Mini Medical School

Join Us!

Join us for UB’s Mini Med School, presented by our partner, UBMD Physician's Group. Click here for more information on upcoming and past sessions.

Since the program began in 1997, UB’s Mini Med School has been providing the Western New York community with a chance to get a taste of the medical school experience. Classes on a wide variety of compelling medical subjects geared toward the layperson are taught by some of UB's leading physicians and researchers.

All lectures take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in 150 Farber Hall, Butler Auditorium, on the UB South campus. This is a convenient location on the corner of Bailey Avenue and Sherman Road (across from the VA Hospital) that offers easy, free parking.

Mini Med is a public service community education program of UB’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and its four other health sciences schools (dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, public health). Programs are designed for students ages 16 and older. To register, simply click on this link.

We are currently finalizing the schedule for the next academic year (September 2016-June 2017). Once posted on this website, it will be easy to sign up to attend one lecture or the entire series. As we expand the program, we want to keep it affordable for all and will be offering a range of Mini Med sponsorship opportunities. To find out more about sponsoring Mini Med or becoming a sustaining member, contact Nicholas Lane at 881-8051 or nmlane2@buffalo.

Thank you for sharing our enthusiasm for this program. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming sessions.

Why Become A Mini Med Partner?

Since the program began in 1997, UB’s Mini Med School has been providing the Western New York community with a chance to get a taste of the medical school experience. Classes on a wide variety of compelling medical subjects geared toward the layperson are taught by some of UB’s leading physicians and researchers.

The 2016 – 2017 University at Buffalo Mini Med School series provides exposure to community members who actively seek out knowledge about today’s hottest medical topics.  The majority of participants are 45+, but it’s open to all, including students 16 years and older.  Becoming a partner of the Mini Med School will give you access and exposure to this select group for the entire 2016 – 2017 season (12 lectures from August 2016 – June 2017).

This is a unique opportunity for your company to reach a proactive group of community members that has a love of learning and seeks new information.  In addition to the three partnership levels listed, we’re happy to create a customized package that fits your budget and marketing goals.
