Located on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, Buffalo General Medical Center offers a wide spectrum of clinical inpatient and outpatient treatment programs.

This 500-bed acute care center, located on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, is one of the region’s major hospitals.

Much of the patient base comes from the local urban area. The hospital also serves as a tertiary referral center, with a significant patient population drawn from Western New York’s eight counties.

Patients present with the entire range of disease states in internal medicine, general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery, with many critically ill cases.

Training

At Buffalo General Medical Center, you’ll access Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to conduct safety, quality and reporting projects.

As a participant on the Physician Advisory Committee, you’ll enjoy protected time to discuss EMR changes that impact:

  • clinical decision support
  • documentation support
  • compliance with government initiatives
  • process improvement

Your work on this committee will help physicians, nurses, administrators, IT professionals and other staff accomplish their clinical care goals.

Other systems you’ll use at BGMC include the Health Information System, Laboratory Information System and Radiology Information System.
