Advanced training in solid tumor malignancies and both benign and malignant blood disorders.

When you choose a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University at Buffalo based at Roswell Park, you’ll be an integral part of patient care, from diagnosis and treatment to outpatient and palliative therapy.

As a free-standing NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, our translational medicine model connects fellows with clinicians, researchers and specialists who understand every aspect of cancer science.

Why choose a fellowship at Roswell Park?

During your three-year fellowship, your clinical experience will be varied and intense, working with patients representing the full spectrum of solid tumors and hematological diseases, both malignant and benign. You’ll care for patients, under faculty supervision, in both inpatient and outpatient clinics. The outpatient continuity clinic allows for the extended follow-up with patients over your years of training.

Following your first year of training, you’ll have the opportunity to pursue a dedicated research track with 12-15 months of continuous research time. In addition, you'll be invited to a wide array of regularly scheduled didactic conferences, multidisciplinary case management conferences, and educational seminars that occur on a weekly basis.

Roswell Park is a place where attendings teach you never to give up on patients and patients teach you never to give up on hope! This place has so much to offer to help grow, both as a good clinician and scholar. Here I found the friendliest nursing staff, physician assistants, case managers and social workers, who are always there to help you get through the day with their kind hearts and warm smiles. I continue to be inspired every day, learning from some of the greatest leaders in hematology/oncology at Roswell Park and am fortunate to also call some of them my mentors, supporting me to excel in my career. The amazing camaraderie amongst fellows helps us grow together and make lasting friendships. If I were asked to pick a place to pursue my fellowship again, it would be Roswell Park without a doubt!
