You will participate in daily dialogues with the attending neurologist, presenting cases and discussing your diagnostic findings and therapeutic plans.

You will present a differential diagnosis (both localization and pathophysiological-nosological entity) based on findings from the patient’s history and physical examination.

You will be challenged to justify your plan with an emphasis on evidence-based practice. Toward this goal, you will discuss pros and cons of various options, focusing on how tests, procedures and therapies benefit the patient and/or alter the working diagnosis. You will frequently be asked why a test is ordered and what medical decision is likely to evolve from the test result.

As a patient’s condition evolves, follow-up reviews emphasize new lab data and test/imaging results as well as the appropriate use of medical systems, consultations and economic considerations.
