Urology ’18

The interview experience here at Buffalo just had a different feel. Everyone made an effort to engender a much more collegial and friendly atmosphere than I'd grown accustomed to.

I felt comfortable from the start — a rarity during those dark days of tenuous travel and showmanship — and that's something I think we continue to pride ourselves on year in and year out; we all get along and work hard together while keeping interpersonal drama to a minimum.

The breadth and scope of our training is truly underrated, as evidenced by a terrific range of exposure across academic and private settings. The program itself is generous and supportive.

As for the area, there’s an upstate New York vibe here that’s kind of infectious. Minimal traffic, burgeoning food scene, abundant nature, and kind, prideful people who just so happen to know their sports. It’s easy living. Winter may last six months here, but the other half of the year is absolutely glorious. Worth it for the farmers’ markets alone.

Our five-year urology residency program prepares our trainees to safely and effectively care for patients. We help our residents develop the skills and knowledge they need to practice robotic surgery and all urologic procedures. We are known for our distinguished faculty, unparalleled training opportunities and compassionate patient care.
