Sellick Discusses Flu During Pandemic

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stresses the importance of your flu shot, noting that “getting a flu vaccine during 2020-2021 will be more important than ever.” While the vaccine does not protect against or prevent the spread of COVID-19, it can reduce the burden of flu illnesses on the health care system and lower the risk you will contract the flu and COVID-19 at the same time, says John A. Sellick Jr., DO, professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases.
