Dan Kosman, a member of the Department for over 35 years, has been recognized as this year's winner of the Stockton Kimball Award, in recognition of his outstanding research program and longtime service to the School of Medicine.

Dan's research into the biochemistry and genetics of iron and copper homeostasis in yeast and other organisms has earned him an international reputation in the biochemical community, and was most recently recognized by his promotion to UB Distinguished Professor. In addition, Dan is an outstanding teacher, and has been a strong advocate for graduate student training in his role as Director of Graduate Studies.
