Objectives for Pharmacy Law Update 2015: “Everything you wanted to know about e-prescribing but was afraid to ask”:

1. List Upcoming legislative issues and their potential effect on pharmacy practice.
2. Summarize changes in NYS laws regarding mandatory electronic prescribing and changes in the syringe and needle regulations.
3. Explain the aspects of the Drug Quality and Security Act and its effect on pharmacy compounding and outsourcing in NYS
4. Describe the requirements for the dispensing and administration of naloxone with regards to opioid poisoning and overdoses
5. Recognize the latest changes in NYS laws, rules and regulations affecting pharmacy practice.
