The UB Alumni Association invites you to join us for a symposium on personalized medicine. Our panel of alumni experts will discuss the impact of personalized medicine on our lives, which uses an individual’s genetic profile to guide decisions regarding prevention, diagnosis and disease treatment.
Norma Nowak, executive director of UB’s New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences, is the keynote speaker. A professor of biochemistry at UB, Nowak’s research contributed to the Human Genome Project and genomic-based approaches to inheritable disorders and cancer.
The symposium will end with a question and answer session.
The event is part of UB Homecoming and Family Weekend.
