The Office of Graduate Medical Education is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2nd Annual GME Awards of Excellence:

Program Director of Excellence Award: Dr. Nicholas Silvestri, Program Director for Neurology. Among many contributions, the committee noted Dr. Silvestri’s passionate commitment to resident education, his breadth of service on eight different UB committees and being the catalyst in establishing a path for resident participation in the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honorary Society. Dr. Silvestri is an excellent example of physician professionalism and integrity.

Training Program Administrator Award of Excellence: Emily Caldarelli, TPA for Hematology/Oncology: The selection committee noted Emily’s contributions at the local level (as a member of the GME Program Quality Review Subcommittee) and national involvement with the American Society of Clinical Oncology, her excellent program management skills and serving as an indispensable member of the Hem/Onc team. Emily’s commitment to the fellows in her program and to her peers is always evident and is most notable.
