Faculty, staff, fellows and students are invited to hear Dr. Ram Samudrala present on computation analysis and novel drug opportunities. His research group performs research to understand how the information in organismal metagenomes specify their behavior and characteristics in the context of environment. They accomplish this by developing novel computational biology and bioinformatics algorithms for predicting protein and proteome structure, function, interaction, design, and evolution. These basic science techniques are then applied to important practical problems in medicine, genetics and
genome engineering, and nanobiotechnology.
