The UB School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Pharmacists: Earn 4.0 contact hrs. or 0.40 CEUs. of continuing education pharmacy credit.

Registration begins at 8 am and includes a Full American Breakfast, continuing education credit and handout materials. Program begins promptly at 8:30 am.

Program Objectives:
-Identify effective adjunct therapies and appropriate use cases in the management of chronic pain
-Describe the various tools used for risk assessment of opioid misuse, abuse and diversion
-Describe the use of Urine Drug Screens when prescribing opiate medications
-Identify when to transition patients to Extended-Release/ Long Acting Opioids and identify which formulations are abuse deterrent
-Describe the impact that individual pharmacogenomic phenotype can have on patient's pain management therapy
-Identify appropriate pain management pharmacotherapy for patients when given results of currently available pharmacogenomic testing
-Describe the current legal environment surrounding the use of medical cannabis in New York State
-Evaluate the impact legalized medical cannabis may have on the pain management of patients with chronic pain

WEBINAR PARTICIPATION AVAILABLE: In order to successfully participate from a remote location via Webinar, you must possess a computer with a high speed connection (not dial-up), external speakers or a headset. You will be able to view the presentation, hear the speaker and address questions via the chat function. Full instructions with the WebEx URL, along with a PDF of the presentation handouts will be emailed to you two days before the program. After the conclusion of the Webinar session you will receive an online evaluation for you to complete. 

The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This knowledged-based activity, ACPE# 0044-0000-16-025-L01-P, will award 4.0 contact hours (0.40 CEUs.) of continuing pharmacy education credit. Credit will be uploaded to the CPE Monitor to those who complete the CE attendance document and evaluation instrument. No partial credit will be awarded.

PLEASE NOTE: ACPE has instituted a 60 day time limit on uploading CE credits to the CPE Monitor.  Be sure that your information is legible and correct and that you sign your attendance form and turn in the completed form at the end of the program.   If there are any issues with uploading your credit to the CPE Monitor the CE office will contact you via email and phone to rectify this. Once it is sixty days past the program date the CPE Monitor will no longer accept credit uploads for that program.

CANCELLATION POLICY
We reserve the right to cancel this program due to such factors as insufficient registration. Registrants will be notified in this case. Requests for refunds, minus a $20 service charge, must be in writing and will be honored up to one week prior to the program. After that time, no refunds will be made.
