Laurene Tumiel-Berhalter, PhD
Director of Community Translational Research Director of CTSI Community Engagement Core

This workshop will describe the foundations of community based participatory research and describe what it is and what it isn't. The Patient Voices Network is a community group comprised of individuals who live in the city of Buffalo and receive their care from safety-net practices. The eight-year journal of the Patient Voices Network will be described with emphasis on the lessons learned and the benefits of our ongoing partnership.

This workshop series will provide training in Community Engagement topics. Workshops are self- contained modules and are free of charge to the Buffalo Translational Consortium. Participants who attend all workshops are eligible to receive a CTSI Certificate of Completion.
