Commencement 2012—Medicine

The 166th commencement for the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences was held April 27 at the Center for the Arts.

This year, the school conferred 134 degrees, including:

  • 127 MD degrees
  • 4 MD/PhD degrees
  • 1 MD/MBA degree
  • 2 MD/oral and maxillofacial surgery degrees

The honored speaker was Jeremy M. Berg, PhD, associate senior vice chancellor for science strategy and planning and professor of computational and systems biology at the University of Pittsburgh.

Berg served as director of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences at the National Institutes of Health from 2003 to 2011.
