Standing | Still Standing

Screening of a film by Andrew Walton, “Standing | Still Standing,” which documents three people with disabilities and medical conditions as they learn yoga from paraplegic yoga instructor Matthew Sanford. This was followed by a guided discussion lead by Dr. Susan Mann Dolce.

Theatre Delta: An Interactive Theater Performance on Strategies for Mentoring Through an Inclusive Lens

Theater Delta, a performance company that offers individual programming to address a variety of issues that impact our learning environment. This interactive theatre performance was open to faculty members and utilized vignettes to engage attendees in conversations related to the following learning objectives:

  • Recognizing and addressing the negative impact of systemic bias on individuals from underrepresented groups
  • Tailoring our approach to mentoring to maximize each student’s strengths and needs
  • Determining effective practices for cultivating the mentoring relationship

Theatre Delta: Addressing the “Little Things” that lead to Big Problems in Mentoring Learners from Different Backgrounds

Theater Delta, a performance company that offers individual programming to address a variety of conflicts that impact our learning environment. This workshop was open to faculty and engaged attendees in a conversation that focused on the following learning objectives:

  • Recognizing and addressing implicit bias.
  • Understanding intent vs impact, intersecting identities, and privilege.
  • Fostering equity and inclusive practices.
  • Implementation of effective bystander and ally behaviors.
  • Navigating difficult conversations.
  • Developing self-awareness and identifying personal filters
