Dori R. Marshall, MD

Dori R. Marshall, MD ’97, is associate dean and director of medical admissions and associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry. A member of the medical school’s admissions committee since 2011, she chairs the school’s Faculty Council Committee on Admissions Policy.

In her role as director of medical admissions, Marshall oversees the acceptance of students to the school. She is committed to continuing the school’s emphasis on a holistic approach to screening and interviewing prospective students. Her goal in screening applicants for interviews, interviewing applicants and engaging in the final discussion regarding whom to select for admission, is to assess each applicant as a unique individual. She leads the school’s admissions team by fostering an understanding of each applicant’s passion and motivation for a career in medicine — and an appreciation of the diversity each applicant brings.

Marshall is an alumna of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and she completed her residency at UB as well. She is board-certified in psychiatry and neurology. She is also accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and has received awards for her teaching.
