2021 Global Medicine Alumnus of the Year
Gonzalo Bearman, MD '97, MPH
Dr. Bearman is a graduate of the University at Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and an expert in the area of general infectious diseases and HIV care. Currently, he is involved in the VCU Global Health and the Health Disparities Program and engaged in clinical research aimed to address the COVID-19 pandemic. He serves as the Director for the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center Incident Command Center Infectious Diseases/Hospital Infection Prevention Program and is a researcher on multiple COVID-19 studies, including Remdesevir and Sarilumab clinical trials.
