UB|MD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine

At UB|MD Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Clinic, you’ll treat a wide range of injuries related to athletics and activity, gaining competence in ultrasound-guided techniques and other state-of-the-art treatment modalities. Working in the region’s most comprehensive concussion clinic, you’ll care for patients of all ages with head trauma.

Located on UB’s South Campus, our 9,500-square-foot clinic has eight exam rooms and features:

• X-ray
• MRI 
• ultrasound machine
• an orthopaedic laboratory
• a large physical therapy unit
• a range of exercise equipment, including treadmills for concussion testing

A division of the UB Department of Orthopaedics, our clinic allows you to collaborate at the point of service with a specialized team that includes:

• orthopaedic surgeons
• primary care sports medicine specialists
• full-time physical therapists
• athletic/personal trainers

During your yearlong sports medicine clinic, you’ll train at this site four half-days every other week.

During this time, you’ll care for patients presenting with orthopaedic conditions caused by exercise, sports, recreational activities, work and other pursuits. You’ll evaluate acute injuries during walk-in appointment hours.

Our practice’s broad demographics provide you a wide range of experience, which you’ll gain under the supervision of our board-certified, fellowship-trained faculty.

You’ll learn alongside other UB medical trainees, including:

• medical students
• family medicine residents
• internal medicine residents

In addition to your sports medicine clinic, you’ll conduct some preparticipation physicals at this site and spend time here during your orthopaedic clinic.

As well, our physical therapy elective is held here.
