Our Early Opportunity Program in Medicine (EOPIM), an early assurance program, offers qualified, historically underrepresented in medicine applicants a path to medical school at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

You'll have opportunities for professional interaction and career training during your undergraduate years, preparing you for a successful medical school experience.

We reserve up to 30 places in our first-year medical school class for students who apply to our program.

Participating Schools

We have partnered with these schools to identify qualified applicants to our program:

Eligibility

  • Sophmore undergraduate in one of our partner schools
  • 3.5 or higher GPA
  • Historically underrepresented in medicine
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident  

Research, Mentoring and Support

We'll provide the support you need to succeed. You'll:

  • Participate in research with one of our research faculty
  • Be paired with a current medical student as a peer mentor
  • Gain valuable MCAT preparation advice and skills

How to Apply

Tell your pre-health advisor about interest in our program by the midpoint of your third undergraduate semester (October 31). You'll work with your pre-health advisor to prepare an application to our program.
