Juneteenth of Buffalo is celebrating their 50th years anniversary, a half century of celebrating freedom, resilience, and the rich cultural heritage of Buffalo’s African American community. Born from the Emancipation Proclamation, Juneteenth marks the abolition of slavery and the triumph over oppression. It is a testament to liberation, cultural heritage, and the enduring resilience of African Americans.

In commemoration of Juneteenth, UB is excited to announce that we will be marching in the Buffalo Juneteenth Parade and we invite students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends and family to join us!

The Juneteenth Parade will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 10 a.m. Parade groups will line up between 8:30-9 a.m. Further parade specifics for the UB group will be shared via email ahead of the parade date for the registered marchers.

If you cannot join the marchers, you can cheer from the sidelines at the Health Pavillion in the corner of N. Fillmore and E. Park Avenues.
