UB GME Resident/Fellow Quality Improvement Safety Council (QISC)

The UB Graduate Medical Education Quality Improvement Safety Council (QISC) is a resident-led committee that aims to improve the medical outcomes for patients in Western New York and beyond.


  • Foster quality improvement and patient safety education among UB residents and fellows
  • Foster collaboration between UB residency/fellowship programs and affiliated hospitals on QI/PS education
  • Facilitate resident/fellow participation in ongoing hospital QI/PS projects and the development of new projects
  • Encourage implementation of QI/PS processes and procedures into clinical practice
  • Develop the next generation of QI/PS leaders
  • Encourage and support resident participation in regional/national/international QI/PS meetings

The committee is open to all residents and fellows from UB-affiliated programs. No prior experience or expertise in quality improvement and/or patient safety is required for participation-only the interest and enthusiasm to contribute to the committee.
