Bill Bruton, staff writer, is responsible for writing, editing and proofreading stories for the Jacobs School’s websites. His work also appears in the school’s alumni magazine as well as UBNow.
He has served UB since 2017 and has brought to UB his wealth of experience as a seasoned journalist with decades of writing expertise.
Prior to his time at UB, Bruton worked in the newspaper business as a reporter and editor. He spent more than two decades as the sports editor of The Daily News in Batavia, New York, where he covered everything from Little League games to Super Bowls, and everything in between. He wrote more than 1,000 bylined stories, as well as content for print and web. He was part of the team that started the Livingston County News, an award-winning weekly newspaper covering Livingston County news and sports.
Bruton earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from SUNY Buffalo State College.
