Buffalo Niagara Center for Pelvic Health

The center provides services for pelvic floor health to women and men by taking a holistic, multidisciplinary approach through collaboration between urology, gynecology, colorectal surgery and physical therapy.

Services include comprehensive management of:

  • incontinence
  • vaginal prolapse
  • urinary retention and other abnormal voiding patterns
  • pelvic pain and bowel disorders related to diseases of the pelvic floor

Training Opportunities

Third-year residents in the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery rotation will spend time in the clinic seeing patients who are predominantly postmenopausal women with urogenital symptoms and disorders.

You will take patient histories, perform exams and pessary fittings and cleanings and assist with urodynamic testing and cystoscopy.

You also will conduct patient histories, preliminary assessments and treatment plan outlines independently. You will then conduct examinations under attending staff supervision before formulating final assessments and treatment plans.
