Technology Town Halls give UB faculty a look at what’s coming next in technology at UB and an opportunity to ask questions and share their feedback. 

• AI at UB
  The Office of Curriculum, Assessment and Teaching Transformation (CATT) will introduce their newly established Instructional Innovation and Transformation (IIT) team and discuss their expanded portfolio of offerings designed to support faculty in exploring, innovating, and integrating generative AI in courses and teaching.
  
  
• Zoom AI Companion
  IT Customer Service (ITCS) will present updates about Zoom AI Companion, which allows meeting hosts to initiate AI-generated summary of their UB Zoom meetings and assists with whiteboard content creation. 
  
  
• Microsoft Copilot
  Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) will provide information about Microsoft Copilot, a free AI chat powered by GPT-4 that keeps your data secure. Learn how to ask Copilot questions, create images, and collaborate with others with Copilot Pages. 
  
  
• SUNY 6900
  The Information Security Office (ISO) will provide updates with what UB is doing to become compliant with SUNY's 6900 Information Security Policy to further protect your sensitive data.

• Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standards
  UB’s Research and Economic Development department, in partnership with UBIT, is leading a project to enhance compliance with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standards. This effort will implement key actions to secure Department of Defense funding and sustain access to critical research projects.
  
  
• UB_Secure retirement & eduroam Wi-Fi 
  UBIT Network and Communication Services (NCS) will discuss the upcoming retirement of the UB Secure Wi-Fi network and need to switch devices to eduroam Wi-Fi. 
  
  
• UB phone calls with Microsoft Teams using Webex app
  UBIT Network and Communications Services (NCS) will be offering the ability to make make phone calls in Microsoft Teams with your UB phone number, using the Webex app. Learn more about this project and how you can become an early adopter.
