Professional Summary:

Dr. Kevin Schauer is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon specializing in joint preservation, with a particular focus on infantile and adolescent hip preservation and pediatric/adolescent sports medicine. His practice is centered on helping young patients return to the activities and sports that they enjoy, while preserving the long-term biomechanics and function of the joint, using techniques involving cartilage restoration, ligament reconstructions, and osteotomies.

Dr. Schauer completed his undergraduate studies at SUNY Geneseo where he received a B.S. in Biology with Summa Cum Laude honors. He received his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences with Summa Cum Laude honors, and completed residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University at Buffalo. He went on to pursue a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics at Children's Hospital Colorado outside of Denver, CO. Throughout his training, Dr. Schauer has published and presented research focused on pediatric fracture management and hip and developmental disorders.

His clinical practice is based primarily at Golisano Children's Hospital of Buffalo, as well as at UBMD Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine clinics in Williamsville and Orchard Park. In addition to his focus on hip preservation and sports medicine, he provides pediatric orthopaedic trauma coverage, drawing on his extensive trauma training in both residency and fellowship.
