Interested in building your skills in educational research? This program is designed for clinicians, educators, and others with a background in medical education who want to expand their research expertise. You might be new to conducting educational studies or looking to strengthen your ability to collaborate on research projects.
The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences provides a faculty development program to enhance teaching and evaluation skills. Physicians in academic practice teach medical students, residents and colleagues, but often receive little training for the unique demands of this role.
In partnership with the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), London, the University at Buffalo established the UB/RCP Educator Program in 2006 to address these differences. Our program takes advantage of the RCP’s years of expertise providing education to physicians worldwide. This program will help you examine your current teaching methods, learn techniques specific to medical education and improve your performance in the short and long term.
Our program includes two intensive workshops, one in the fall and one in the spring. Between these sessions, you apply what you learn to your teaching practice.
