Celebrating Our Heartbeat

A Night of Gratitude for Volunteers and Donors at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences

Thank you to everyone who joined us at “Our Heartbeat: A Night of Heartfelt Appreciation for Volunteers and Donors,” on Jan. 13. We came together to express our deepest gratitude to our volunteer faculty, donors and the many others who make outstanding contributions to the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. They are the heartbeat of our organization, driving innovation and shaping the future of health care.

During the event, several individuals were recognized, including:

  • Pratibha Bansal, MD, received the Dean's Recognition for Exemplary Service Award. Dr. Bansal has made significant contributions to pain management and has been a dedicated mentor and educator.
  • Michael Rade, MD ’75, was recognized for his dedication and invaluable contributions as a volunteer faculty member.
  • Beth A. Smith, MD ’00, was recognized as a volunteer partnership champion for her outstanding leadership and dedication in building meaningful relationships and engaging volunteers.
  • Charles M. Severin, MD ’97, was recognized for volunteer dedication excellence for his unwavering dedication and exceptional contributions as a volunteer faculty member.

The event, featuring talented members of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, was a small token of our immense gratitude to our faculty, donors and everyone who makes an impact on the school.

Thank you again to all our Jacobs School volunteers and donors for your steadfast commitment to transforming the future of health care in Western New York and beyond.

Warm regards,
