Is Our Undergraduate Research Program Right for You?

CLIMB UP for Summer Research is an interdisciplinary, 9-week-long summer research experience for undergraduates to conduct research in the biomedical, behavioral, and health sciences. Additionally, CLIMB UP provides research mentoring and career and professional development tailored to the goals of each of our students in the program. Students explore graduate and career opportunities, discuss and present their research, network, and participate in social activities.

Resume/CV

Your CV is a quick way for programs to get to know you, so make sure that your resume tells a clean, clear story in a professional format. Have several people look this over, including mentors and your career services office.

Personal statement

You should include:

  • why you’re a good fit for the program, and why you want to attend
  • your academic and research experiences and strengths
  • significant accomplishments
  • what sets you apart from other applicants

Letters of recommendation

You will need two letters for our program. Letter writers should be able to speak to your ability to succeed in a research program. Make sure you give them plenty of notice and follow up as necessary.

Transcripts

You will need to submit transcripts from all schools you have attended since high school.
