I am a nephrologist with training in internal medicine and nephrology across Syria, Qatar, and the United States. I completed my internal medicine residency at Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, Qatar, an ACGME-I accredited program affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, and am currently completing my nephrology fellowship at the University at Buffalo. My clinical interests include acute kidney injury, electrolyte disorders, dialysis, and glomerular disease.
I am also pursuing advanced training in medical education through the Fellows as Educators Pathway at the University at Buffalo, leading to a master’s degree in education studies. I am passionate about teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and I have delivered lectures on acute kidney injury and hyponatremia as part of resident education. My teaching philosophy emphasizes interactive, case-based learning to bridge clinical reasoning with patient-centered care.
In addition to my clinical and educational work, I have contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications, including case reports and abstracts in JACC Case Reports, Clinical Case Reports, and Heart Views. My research has focused on complex cardiovascular–renal interactions, rare presentations of systemic disease, and outcomes in critically ill patients with kidney injury.
I have been recognized for academic and clinical excellence, including being named Best Senior Resident at Hamad Medical Corporation and ranking among the top 10% in my residency program’s in-training examination. I also received a letter of appreciation for my frontline service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I am committed to a career that combines patient care, medical education, and clinical research to advance the field of nephrology and to mentor the next generation of physicians.
