Dr. Stavros Lalos is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and Assistant Professor in the EMS Division of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University at Buffalo. He currently serves as an attending physician at Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo General Hospital, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Buffalo, NY.
Dr Lalos completed his Emergency Medical Services Fellowship at the University at Buffalo, following his residency in Emergency Medicine at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, New York. He earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Dr. Lalos’s academic interests include EMS systems, prehospital trauma care, medical education, and the improvement and education of prehospital bystander CPR in the community. He is actively involved in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical and didactic settings. He also serves as an emergency physician for the Buffalo Bills (NFL), providing care in both on-field and stadium-based settings.
His research and scholarly work include peer-reviewed publications in Pediatric Emergency Care, Prehospital Emergency Care, and the American Journal of Emergency Medicine. He has presented nationally and internationally on pediatric infectious disease, EMS best practices, and emergency department management topics.
In addition to his academic and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Lalos serves on several community and professional initiatives.
