Obesity can lower testosterone in teen boys, but weight-loss surgery may help

News outlets including UPI and MedicineNet continued to carry a story on a study led by Paresh Dandona, MD, PhD, SUNY Distinguished Professor of Medicine in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at UB. The research finds that bariatric surgery not only treats obesity and reverses Type 2 diabetes, it also reverses low testosterone levels in obese teen males.
