WBFO Weekly Interview with Nancy Nielsen [WBFO]

Published February 24, 2022

WBFO broadcast its weekly interview with Nancy Nielsen, MD, PhD, senior associate dean for health policy in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, in which she discussed the omicron subvariant and said “I think we should be alert to what’s happening with BA.2 but not overly concerned at this point. As I’ve said before, we are really watching evolution in real time. Obviously what folks are most concerned about is will a new variant escape vaccine protection.” She discussed the global vaccination situation, noting that this past week, Africa’s CDC asked countries donating vaccines to African nations to pause donations. “They are dealing right now, as we are, with vaccine reluctance,” she said. The story is not yet available online.
