Our department emphasizes the structure and function of
macromolecules, mechanisms and regulation of gene expression, and
metabolic processes as they relate to basic and biomedical
sciences.
The course requirements of your first two years are common to many science majors. Biochemistry major courses begin in your junior year. There is no biochemistry minor.
Our graduates are prepared to enter medical, dental or graduate school or work in academia, industry, medicine or government.
