Professional Summary:

I AM A NEUROLOGIST AND A CLINICAL RESEARCHER with significant stroke prevention and treatment expertise from both the individual patient and public health perspectives. My broad-based clinical experience in the U.S. and Nepal includes work in trauma centers, comprehensive stroke centers, emergency rooms, acute care / ICU, inpatient, and outpatient settings. My background is ideally suited for positions in hospital administration, stroke centers, health operation and management, health system management, and public health consultancy.

MY CURRENT RESEARCH FOCUS explores an area with a high volume of stroke patients and stroke outcome and risk factors related to stroke. I am currently involved with original research projects related to biomarkers in stroke and functional magnetic resonance imaging in stroke. I collaborate in multi-centric U.S. and worldwide research trials. Past research has been published in peer-reviewed pediatric, neurology, and general medical journals.

I SUPERVISE AND INSTRUCT medical students and residents; received multiple commendations for teaching excellence. I direct the neurology clerkship at the University at Buffalo.
