My passion in medicine has always included aspects of education - teaching medical trainees as well as parents of my pediatric patients & adolescents as they are gaining autonomy of their own medical care. I worked for Michigan State University & University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as my husband finished his medical training before moving to Buffalo for his attending position. I gave lectures/taught on pediatric as well as osteopathic manipulative medicine topics to several groups during that time.
During my medical training, I lead a social media quality improvement initiative for my residency program & implemented assessments for the first virtual residency interviews as part of a larger virtual recruitment quality improvement initiative.
Throughout my undergraduate education, I participated in two different bench research projects. I worked in an organic chemistry lab on developing a greener synthesis for important compound alpha-hydrazino ester (used as precursor to several vital medications such as Vancomycin). I also worked on a biology research team studying the "Effect of Non-Specific Phosphodiesterase Inhibitors on the Modulation of Levodopa-Induced Dyskinesias in Parkinsonian Rats".
