Provides medical physicist services to Institute departments using radiation beams for therapy of disease; maintains quality assurance and calibration of radiotherapy equipment; provides consultation in radiation safety matters; participates in treatment design and delivery. Research Expertise:

  • Optimising the dose distribution in breast radiation therapy: Aim of this project is to find a model correlating the overall 3-dimensional shape of the breast to the photon fluence to produce a homogenous dose distribution using the Electronic tissue compensation technique.
  • Prostate Motion Tracking: The aim is to develop a model that optimizes the fiducial marker locations in the prostate to increase detectability of the markers in the projected Electronic Portal Imaging Device (EPID) images during Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) treatments
  • Research Summary: Patient imaging plays a crucial role in Radiation therapy. Using an Electronic Portal Imaging Device to capture images during treatments permits clinicians not only to track tumor motion, but also could be utilized to modify subsequent treatments (adaptive radiation therapy). My research interest involves utilizing these imaging techniques to achieve maximum therapeutic effect.
