The Offices of Graduate Medical Education and Continuing Medical Education are partnering with the Royal College of Physicians to offer an exciting opportunity to approximately 35 UB Faculty members who have been identified as being interested in enhancing their skills as educators. I’ve attached the application and brochure for this year’s program. Interested participants should submit a completed application and NIH-style bio sketch by October 2, 2015.

The Royal College of Physicians Faculty Development Program is planned in two stages. Stage one will consist of clinical teaching and feedback skills and Stage two will cover generic teaching skills, assessment, and trainees with difficulty. All participants are required to attend all sessions listed below and complete an education project as a component of the training. A Peer Support Network will assist participants in completing this goal.

Stage 1: November 2015
- November 19, 2015: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- November 20, 2015: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Peer Support Meetings (half-day, morning sessions)
- January 28, 2016: 8:00 am to 11:00 am
- May 11, 2016: 8:00 am to 11:00 am
- October 20, 2016: 8:00 am to 11:00 am

Stage 2: May 2016
- May 9, 2016: 8:00am to 5:00pm
- May 10, 2016: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Participants who successfully complete both stages of the program, including the education project, will be awarded the status of Certified Royal College of Physician (RCP) Educator. Certified Royal College of Physician Educators will be asked to share their knowledge at future faculty development activities offered at UB.
