Department of Biomedical Informatics

Faculty, staff, fellows and students are invited to hear Dr. Subramani Mani, Md, PhD speak at the department's monthly Grand Rounds. In this talk, he will discuss imaging and proteomic biomarker studies using predictive modeling approaches based on machine learning (ML) methods. Hewill introduce the ML framework, the ML algorithms, the clinical domains and the clinical questions we are trying to address based on our biomarker discovery paradigm. Using the top ranked protein biomarkers we will also outline a strategy for druggability profiling which has the potential for discovering new drug targets. The presentation will conclude by summarizing the potential of ML approaches for developing a precision medicine framework.
