“Two of the cornerstones of science advancement are rigor in designing and performing scientific research and the ability to reproduce biomedical research findings. The application of rigor ensures robust and unbiased experimental design, methodology, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of results”.

NIH now expects grant applications to explicitly address, and reviewers to consider, the reproducibility of research findings through increased scientific rigor and transparency. NIH has provided some principles, but how should you use these guidelines to demonstrate rigor, and that the research is reproducible, robust, and transparent? How should these principles be adapted to fit the unique needs and challenges of your research field? In this workshop, Professors Jeff Lackner and Jessica Reynolds will discuss these requirements and offer some guidance in meeting these NIH standards.
