The new Android 11 update, available beginning February 15, 2021 (although it may take longer to arrive on your device), will change the way your device connects to trusted networks like eduroam.

What does that mean for you? You’ll have to reconnect to eduroam after your device is updated to the latest version of Android 11.

You can reconnect your Android device to eduroam by following the same steps used to connect for the first time:

  1. Connect your device to the UB Connect Wi-Fi network on campus
  2. Visit connect.buffalo.edu from your device’s web browser
  3. Click Start Connection Wizard and follow the on-screen prompts

The UBIT website has instructions for connecting most types of devices to eduroam. You can use these instructions to connect your device to eduroam for the first time, or to reconnect your device if you get disconnected for some reason.

I tried the instructions but I’m still having problems. Help!

The UB Tech Squad is here to help with problems connecting to Wi-Fi at UB, and many other common problems.

If the instructions above didn’t work for you, book a virtual appoint with the Tech Squad at buffalo.edu/ubit/techsquad, or by phone at 716-645-3542, and they’ll help you get connected.
