Meet Jeanvieve Cannon, MD ’23, Anesthesiology Resident

Can you tell us a bit about your background?

Syracuse, New York, is where I call home. I attended the University at Buffalo for undergrad and majored in biological sciences with a minor in fine arts.

Why did UB’s anesthesiology residency appeal to you? Did earning your MD at the Jacobs School have an impact?

I have always found community at UB. I felt well supported throughout undergrad as well as in medical school, so choosing UB for residency was an easy decision.

Are there aspects of our anesthesiology residency you particularly enjoy?

UB’s anesthesiology residency program allows me to experience a large variety of cases and to take care of patients of different cultural and medical backgrounds.

This has been extremely rewarding and is preparing me for my career in anesthesia.

How do you feel about living in Buffalo, NY?

Buffalo is a great city with lots to do. I have been here for quite a while now and have enjoyed going to art museums, parks, events downtown, snowboarding, trying different restaurants and so many other activities.

It’s a great place to live!
