We invite you to join or renew your membership with the Medical Emeritus Faculty Society (MEFS). Your commitment allows us to build programs for retired physicians and scientists affiliated with the Jacobs School to keep us connected to medicine and each other. MEFS programming includes quarterly roundtable luncheons, the annual Gold Humanism Honor Society Induction Ceremony, the newly named Eugene Mindell/Harold Brody/Clinical Translational Research Award, as well as university, Jacobs School and social gatherings.
We continue to engage around the new medical school building and welcome new retirees, Jacobs School graduates of 50 years+ and faculty to attend our various gatherings.
In the past we have featured dynamic presenters both from the University at Buffalo and our greater Buffalo community. Presenters have included Drs. Michael Cain, Nancy Nielsen, Alan Lesse, Linda Pessar, Michael Cropp and other leading alumni and faculty from the Jacobs School. We host presentations at local institutions such as WNED, the Albright Knox, and the Buffalo Zoo. Annually, we welcome over 40 new members to the Gold Humanism Honor Society, as well as the Mindell/Brody/Translational Research Center Award recipients at Spring Clinical Day.
With the current pandemic, we continue to offer a welcome destination for our emeritus faculty members in a format that is engaging and meaningful, yet safe. Members are invited to connect via our virtual roundtable offerings, lectures and other educational opportunities that showcase our involvement in the medical and research communities. We hope you will join us to be a part of this exciting time at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
