Psychiatry
As a psychiatrist, my clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders, and I have special interests in neuropsychiatric manifestations of brain disease, geriatric psychiatry, and somatic therapeutic modalities, including electroconvulsive therapy. I am an attending psychiatrist in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) at the Erie County Medical Center, where I work with psychiatric residents and other mental health professionals to provide timely, effective psychiatric care in an acute setting.
In my role as a faculty member of the UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, I oversee third-year medical students rotating on their psychiatry clerkship, offering feedback on interviewing style, differential diagnosis, and treatment approach. I also provide direct clinical supervision to psychiatric residents during their emergency psychiatry rotation through CPEP, where exposure to broad psychopathology, crisis assessment, and the interplay between substance abuse and other psychiatric illness are center points of the training experience.
