At this large outpatient clinic, expert neurologists and neurology subspecialists provide state-of-the-art evaluation and care for adults and children.

Training

You’ll manage and diagnose patients with a range of neuromuscular diseases at this UBMD clinic, where you’ll learn how to perform electromyography and nerve conduction studies.

Our expert faculty will model and guide you in using evidence-based best practices to treat a broad variety of disorders, including neuropathies, myopathies, dysfunctions at the neuromuscular junction, dystrophies, radiculopathy and plexopathies.

They’ll also help you learn important background information, including normal anatomy and physiology, autonomic system structure, function and dysfunction.

Equipment

You’ll use a state-of-the-art, portable, two-channel EMG machine equipped with modules for:

  • single-fiber and conventional EMG
  • nerve conduction and repetitive nerve stimulation
  • blink reflex studies

Caseload

Approximately 50 cases per month during your electromyography rotations
