Professional Summary:

I am a board certified Family Physician, providing primary care for adults and children. I offer a complete range of primary care services to patients of all ages including preventative care, management of chronic conditions, and sick visits for common illnesses. I also provide inpatient hospital care to UBMD patients admitted to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. While providing clinical care, I place a strong emphasis on patient empowerment through patient education and shared decision making.

I graduated with research honors from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2020, subsequently completing my residency training in Family Medicine at the University at Buffalo in 2023. During my residency, I completed supplemental training in medical education via completion of the academic tract, developing a point-of-care ultrasound curriculum for the program. I also held the role of academic chief resident, designing and implementing a year-long grand rounds lecture series.

The elderly often struggle with polypharmacy. My research focus has been primarily asking the question “how do we keep our elderly safe from medication side effects and polypharmacy?". Through the Primary Care Research Institute and "Team Alice", an interdisciplinary working group, I have worked on this question utilizing implementation science, human factors & ergonomics, as well as qualitative research methodologies.

Medical education is a passion of mine, teaching medical trainees of all levels. I prioritize teaching learners how to think through problems systematically using mental maps. Pre-medical students often shadow me in the clinic. For the 1st and 2nd year medical students, I co-direct “Case-Based Inquiry & Learning”, a 18-month long active learning course which teaches clinical reasoning and the merging of basic sciences with clinical skills. For 3rd and 4th year medical students, I provide monthly lectures during family medicine clerkship and sub-internship, while supervising them in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. In the realm of post-graduate medical education, I supervise family medicine resident physicians in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, while directing their point-of-care-ultrasound (POCUS) curriculum.
