Professional Summary:

Dr. Jihae Lee is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Buffalo in the Department of Geriatric and Palliative Care. Her primary clinical responsibilities are providing Inpatient Geriatric Consultation Service at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC). She performs comprehensive geriatric assessments and assist with the identification and management of geriatric syndromes including cognitive impairment, delirium, frailty, malnutrition, functional decline, falls, polypharmacy. She also works in collaboration with the Inpatient Palliative Care Consultative Team to explore goals of care and what matters most to our hospitalized older adults.

Her passions lie in the intersection between Geriatrics and Palliative Care and effectively communicating serious illness to older adults. She is also a strong advocate for systems change to provide quality and holistic care for hospitalized older adults. With her lead, ECMC has become an avid participant in the ‘Age-Friendly Health Initiative’ founded by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and John A. Hartford Foundation.
