Junior research scientists, including residents, graduate students, medical students, fellows, postdoctoral associates and assistant professors may apply for this award. You must have received your most recent degree no more than 10 years ago.

Upload a PDF that includes all components of your application. These include:

  • cover page: title of proposal; primary author/UB title; if student or trainee include name of primary mentor; department/institution
  • page 2: an abstract, written in lay terms and no longer than 150 words (the acknowledgement of others involved with the project may be included on the poster if accepted for presentation)
  • pages 3-4: a research summary, including a strong personal statement, which summarizes your problem, methods, results and conclusions in one to two pages; reference list is not included in the page limit          
  • page 5: a description of your project’s relevance to clinical translational research, no longer than one page

For all supporting documentation, use Times New Roman font in 12-point type with single line spacing and one-inch margins.
