The Louis A. and Ruth Siegel Awards for Excellence in Teaching is the foremost means for recognizing extraordinary teaching in our school. Louis A. Siegel received his medical degree from UB in 1923 and served as an assistant professor of obstetrics-gynecology for 21 years. Siegel was a dedicated clinical teacher who inspired medical students and house officers with enthusiasm and the spirit of inquiry.

The Siegel Awards allow students to recognize teachers who have significantly impacted their education throughout medical school. Lecturers, small group leaders, anyone you worked with during clerkships (interns, residents, fellows, and attendings), volunteers, and even fellow students are all eligible for nomination. On March 11, we will honor those who made a difference in our medical school education over the last year, and we hope that you will join us to celebrate them!
