Soon you won’t be able to use an old version of Zoom when joining and hosting meetings at UB. Update your personal devices today to avoid any disruptions in the future.
Zoom is making a change that will require those using the Zoom desktop client to use a recent version (no older than nine months) when joining and hosting Zoom meetings.
Beginning February 1, 2022, when using a Zoom client older than nine months, you will be notified that your client must be updated before continuing to use Zoom. More details about this change are available on the Zoom website.
Update Zoom on your personal devices to avoid any disruption in services; your UB-owned device is kept up to date automatically by your departmental IT support.
Soon, Zoom policy will require that you keep your desktop client updated. But there are other good reasons to update too: using the latest version of software is a best practice that ensures you benefit from the latest security features and enhancements.
