UB Information Technology is updating the technology in the 3rd floor computing site of Silverman Library. These new devices and stations offer upgraded study spots for students.

New tech for the fall semester

By mid-August 2025, Silverman Library’s 3rd floor computing site will be outfitted with 30 brand new Dell All-in-One PC computers. New tabletop power outlets are also being added, making it easier to recharge your laptop or other device.

The new Dell PCs are replacing older PC stations and offer improved graphics, processing power, and specs:

  • 24” wide all-in-one monitor
  • Intel Core Ultra 7 20 cores up to 5.3 GHz
  • 512 GB SSD card
  • 32 GB RAM
  • Integrated HDR Camera

With the updated PC web camera, students can use this space to participate in Zoom or Teams meetings.

New tabletop power options will be placed in between the PCs, giving students a place to plug in and work from their own device.
